"Thrive" To flourish, prosper or succeed, be healthy, grow and develop strongly, and to realise one’s full potential.
Thriving cities are built on connection, innovation, and sustainability. They’re built by data-driven decisions that foster vibrant communities, healthy environments and communities, and create a resilient future for all.
We’ve brought together a comprehensive collection of spatial data from across sectors - environment, planning, health, population, and more - and transformed it into ready-to-use, easy-to-understand datasets, all within a single, intuitive platform.
What is the Thriving Perth Portal?
One Platform. Endless Insights.
The Thriving Perth Portal is an interactive web-based mapping and decision-support tool that brings together spatial data from across key domains - including environment, planning, hydrology, climate, population, and health - into a single, accessible resource, enabling enable local governments to visualise and analyse the distribution of health determinants, outcomes, and environmental factors within their communities.
By integrating datasets from multiple government agencies, the portal enables a coordinated, whole-of-system response to planning, public health and environmental challenges and fosters cross-sector collaboration to address the broader determinants of health and wellbeing.
No GIS Skills or Experience? No Problem.
While many spatial datasets have been available, accessing and using them often requires specialised GIS expertise and software.
No GIS skills or specialised software is required to use the Thriving Perth Portal. Its intuitive design and preloaded spatial layers allow users to easily visualise and interpret data, enabling place-based insights that support informed, evidence-led decisions.
Lets Break it Down
The spatial data layers are organised into a range of sub-themes that highlight the intricate connections between people, places, and the systems that help them thrive. This unique integrated approach empowers users to explore and understand the full picture of urban and environmental dynamics.
Please be aware that whilst we are actively developing and improving the Portal you may notice occasional updates or changes to the spatial data layers.
